The problem behind the work.

Employee compensation and job history are sensitive records. At SAP Labs, product teams needed consistent access to that data and a way to carry out GDPR-related retention and deletion work.

The compliance requirement had to become dependable software behavior. Multiple product surfaces needed the same read and write rules, while data removal needed both routine automation and a controlled manual path.

What Ajay built.

Ajay's role

Ajay designed the unified service layer and developed the GDPR-related retention tool at SAP Labs. He coordinated integration across three teams and later adapted the design for customer requirements.

Approach

The shared service gave product teams one path to sensitive records. The retention tool provided automated and manual purge workflows, turning data lifecycle requirements into operations the system could carry out consistently.

What the work required.

01

Make retention operable

A compliance requirement needs a defined path in the product for carrying out data lifecycle actions.

02

Keep data access consistent

A shared service gives product surfaces one route to sensitive employee records.

03

Support two purge paths

Automation handles routine retention work; a manual path supports cases that need intervention.

What changed.

Ajay delivered the shared data service and GDPR-related retention tool at SAP Labs, giving product teams defined automated and manual paths for sensitive-data deletion.
