Keeping the platform dependable across service boundaries.

We are defining how identity, product services, and background work stay consistent as the platform grows.

The need

Keep user access and background work coherent across services.

Our work

Define service ownership, authorization checks, job state, and recovery.

Current stage

These platform boundaries are being developed and integrated.

The problem behind the work.

One user action can move through sign-in, a product API, and a background worker. We are designing those boundaries together so the product can understand who may do what and what happened to the work after it was accepted.

A user identifier carried into a queue is context, not authority. Access can change while work waits. Services also need to distinguish a running process from a healthy user journey.

What we are building.

Our work

We are defining the identity and operational contracts across the private platform's services and workers.

Approach

Identity has a clear owner; product services request the access decisions they need. Background jobs carry explicit state and recovery paths. Operational checks distinguish process health, queue progress, and user-facing behavior.

Why we took this approach.

01

Give identity one owner

A defined authority for users, organizations, membership, and sessions keeps access decisions consistent.

02

Check rights where work happens

Services verify permission for protected actions, including work performed after a request has left the browser.

03

Observe the whole journey

Separate signals for requests, workers, queues, and dependencies make failures easier to locate.

Where the work stands.

The access and operations model is in development as part of the private platform.
